Internship at SF1OG (Berlin)
September 2024 – February 2025
During my six-month internship at the Berlin-based label SF1OG, I gained extensive hands-on experience across design, development, and production within an avant-garde fashion context. Known for its experimental, genderless approach and strong focus on sustainability and craftsmanship, SF1OG provided a highly dynamic and concept-driven working environment.
I was actively involved in the development of artisanal and ready-to-wear pieces, contributing from initial research to final execution. One of my key projects was the design and realization of a macramé leather garment, developed as a handcrafted showpiece. This process included material experimentation, technique research, pattern construction based on the Müller & Sohn system, and the manual production of the final piece using repurposed leather. The garment was ultimately styled in an unconventional way for the runway, reflecting the brand’s experimental ethos.
In addition, I worked extensively with Clo3D to develop and refine garment constructions digitally before translating them into physical prototypes. This included projects such as a fishtail parka and a pair of skinny jeans, where I was responsible for pattern development, sampling, fitting adjustments, and the creation of detailed production tech packs with technical drawings and construction specifications.
Beyond design, I contributed to broader collection development and operational processes. I assisted in revising the brand’s sizing system through body measurement analysis and supported the organization of a sample sale, including inventory management and online shop maintenance.
I also accompanied the team to Paris Fashion Week, where I supported the setup and operation of the showroom in collaboration with the sales agency Untitled Paris. My responsibilities included garment preparation, showroom presentation, and assisting buyers on-site. Back in Berlin, I was involved in the final stages of show production, contributing to model castings, fittings, and coordination with external teams across production, styling, and guest management.
This experience allowed me to develop a strong understanding of the full fashion cycle from concept and craftsmanship to presentation and sales within an independent, forward-thinking fashion environment.
